Community Involment:
Joan has been a Palm Beach County resident since 1966. Having grown up in Palm Beach she has extensive contacts throughout the area.
Joan is a Master Instructor with Infant Swimming Resource and has been teaching babies and children survival skills in the water for over 15 years. She was instrumental in starting Safe Start USA in the YMCA of the Palm Beaches. This program is subsidized and offers lessons to families who could not otherwise afford to have their children participate in lesson. Currently Joan is also spear heading the expansion of drowning prevention in the JCCs of Palm Beach County.
Joan is a volunteer for the March of Dimes and has worked extensively with Children's organizations such as Children's Place & Home Safe. Joan is also a supporter of the Nicklaus Children's Foundation.
Joan is alsoan avid surfer, and is a founding member of Surfrider Foundation Palm Beach County Chapter. She is also a founding member of the Jupiter Noseriders Club and has been a volunteer for Eastern Surf Association for many years.
Arpe's daughter, Marina Henry-Arpe is also a realtor with Golden Bear and a licensed Infant Swim Instructor. |
